Detectives hunting the infamous cheesewire killer are trying to trace a man who seen wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt on the 39th anniversary of the brutal murder.
Taxi driver George ‘Dod’ Murdoch was violently attacked with the makeshift weapon after telling the control room he was going to pick up a fare in Culter, Aberdeen, at around 8.35pm on Thursday, September 29, 1983.
The 58-year-old was brutally murdered with a cheesewire after he turned onto Pitfodels Station Road, just on the outskirts of the city.Detectives probing the death are now keen to locate a man who was seen in Wilson's Sports Bar on Market Street in Aberdeen in September 2015.
He was wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt and is described as being small in height and of a stocky build. He is believed to be in his sixties or seventies and local to Aberdeen.
