Edinburgh Fringe star whose teary 'no show' Tweet went viral posted similar message last year

An Edinburgh Fringe Festival performer who was left in tears after just one person turned up to her show has been accused of pulling the same "stunt" last year.George Grier went viral after posting a tear-strewn selfie on Twitter announcing that just one person had turned up to watch her one-woman play.She said: "There was one person in my audience today when I performed my one woman play, 'Sunsets' at #edfringe.

It's fine, isn't it? It's fine...?" alongside a heartbreaking picture of her wiping her tears.Grier returned to her set the next night to a sell-out crowd after receiving messages of support from comedians such as Jason Manford, Sarah Millican and Dara Ó Briain.

But fans have called her into question after noticing the actress pulling a similar "stunt" last year, to a less successful end.

The Mirror found a Twitter user sharing a post claiming to be from Grier's Facebook in 2022 where the actress said she had been crying because the only people that showed up to watch her Edinburgh Fringe performance were her parents.Alongside a photo of her flyers, Ms Grier wrote on August 15, 2022: "Just had a cry because the only people who turned up to my first show were my parents.
