A woman has been taken to hospital and 19 others treated by paramedics after a fire at a tenement in Edinburgh.Fire crews were called to reports of a blaze at a three-storey building on Gorgie Road in the capital around 9am on Tuesday, July 4.
The fire was first reported within the stairs of a property, according to Edinburgh Live. As a result of the blaze paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service treated 20 people, three of which were helped to safety by firefighters, with one taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Four appliances were dispatched as part of the response.The fire has since been extinguished. An eyewitness told how residents have been unable to yet get access back into the building.They said: "There are a ton of emergency service vehicles here.
There are three fire engines, three ambulances and at least two police cars."Police have set up a cordon and it looks like residents can't get back into the building yet.
