After a number of high-profile falling outs, one-time bandmates Eddie Van Halen and Sammy Hagar made peace earlier this year, according to a note Hager wrote and asked Howard Stern to read on his show.
Van Halen died Tuesday at the age of 65. Stern shared his love and admiration forVan Halen and said he askedHagar — a guest numerous times throughout the years — if he wanted to come on now.Hagar responded that he was not ready to talk in person, but he sent a revealing note. “Eddieand I had been texting, and it’s been a love-fest since we started communicating earlier this year,” Hagar wrote. “We both agreed not to tell anyone, because of all the rumors it would stir up about a reunion, and we both knew that wasn’t gonna happen.
