Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Kai Havertz after being put off by Bayer Leverkusen’s £90million valuation of the player.Havertz, 21, is attracting plenty of attention in European football after producing a number of impressive displays in the middle of the park for Leverkusen.Reports suggest the Germany international is on his way to Chelsea this summer, although the likes of United, Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been linked with a move.Yet according to The Athletic, United board members Matt Judge and Ed Woodward decided against signing him because of Leverkusen’s steep asking price.The Bundesliga outfit are said to be demanding £90million for their star man this summer, but Judge and Woodward felt that was not.
