Gemma Cargin, who works as a teacher in Manchester, boarded a flight at Manchester Airport on Sunday (May 30) which she believed to be heading to Belfast but instead was heading 1,276 miles away to the south coast of Spain, BelfastLive reports.
The woman, from County Down, told BBC NI that despite her boarding pass being scanned by staff at the airport, no one had picked up on the fact that she was intending on taking a detour home to Northern Ireland.
