EastEnders' character Sonia Fowler, portrayed by Natalie Cassidy, has been implicated in a murder plot that unfolded during the Wednesday episode set for August 21.
Found available on iPlayer, the drama escalated with pregnant Sonia and her partner Reiss Colwell (played by Johnny Freeman) facing police questioning over the murder of Debbie Colwell (Jenny Meier) which happened last month.
As Reiss managed to give an alibi confirming his whereabouts at Peggy's bar on the fateful night, Sonia had no concrete evidence placing her in Walford when Debbie was killed.
During intense police interrogation, one line of questioning highlighted: "You never felt like she was in the way? " followed by the reveal of "We have a witness statement, you were heard saying 'things would be much easier if she was dead'." Flashback to July 24 on the Square, Sonia is depicted gossiping with her former spouse Martin (James Bye).
