EastEnders star Rita Simons couldn't be prouder of her daughter Maiya after the budding actress starred in a TV programme - which went on to be nominated twice for a BAFTA.
The Roxy Mitchell star's daughter, 16, took on the role of Kaz in Silverpoint - a story about four children who discover why they have a connection to an alien presence in the woods where a Summer Camp is held.
Maiya's character Kaz was a rebellious teenager who often ended up in trouble with the adult characters in charge of the summer camp.
And following its performance on our TV screens, the show ended up being nominated for two awards. Bursting with pride over her the beginning of her daughter's acting career, Rita, 46, told the Mirror: "I give Maiya lots of advice." The actress added that Maiya would often wait for her in her dressing room and watch her work on her Roxy Mitchell scenes on the BBC set.
