As Walford continues to try and put the events of Christmas behind them, there was still more drama about to unfold in EastEnders this week following the arrival of George Knight’s parents on New Year’s Day.
The elderly couple arrived in Albert Square on Monday evening and were keen to share some news about their son’s past with him, but upon catching a glimpse of the pair in the pub, Cindy Beale, George’s ex girlfriend and mother of his children appeared horrified by their arrival and couldn’t escape the pub quick enough.
Clearly rattled by their appearance, Tuesday’s episode appeared to shine a light on the situation, as Cindy told her partner Ian Beale that she was frightened of bumping into them as they didn’t know she had been placed in witness protection, or what her true identity was.
Scared of being outed in the middle of a packed pub, Cindy’s explanation was accepted by Ian without too much convincing, but fans are home aren’t so sure that she is being completely honest about how she knows George’s father - particularly how she seemed to show genuine fear in his presence.Taking to social media to share their thoughts on the situation, one fan wrote: “I have a feeling that Eddie ( George's dad) may have done something to Cindy.
