Ian had been brutally attacked in The Queen Vic and left to die, surrounded by what looked like shattered glass. It's not known who attacked him, but someone did - and it seems they want him dead.
Tina Carter had been seen confronting him in his house before the episode cut to darkness. A sequence of the suspects then aired, showing their movements around the time of the attack with it being much later on in the day.
