East Kilbride Thistle boss Mark Steele has told his side to get stuck in to Easterhouse on Saturday in a bid to climb the West of Scotland Fourth Division.Jags haven’t played since drawing 1-1 with Knightswood on December 14, and Steele hopes they can hit the ground running, knowing that a win could take them to within three points of seventh-placed Eglinton. He said: “I don’t expect anything other than the boys to go and roll their sleeves up, run further and harder, and win the battles against the boys they’re playing against.“I’d love to have the three points at the end of it, and we’ll be targeting that, but I wouldn’t go into it saying I will be expecting anything, other than the boys to carry out what we’ve been working on and give it our best shot.“The last time we played was Knightswood away, which is a while ago.“We’ve had a couple of internal bounce games, and although it isn’t a proper match against different opponents, we won’t make any excuses.“The new guys are settling in well, so we’re excited again.

Two or three of the boys we signed had been in training for three or four weeks prior to us announcing them, so they’re settling in pretty well.”Young winger Calum Jamieson will go on loan to Neilston for game-time.
