East Kilbride residents asked for feedback on town's upcoming 75th anniversary celebrations

Residents of East Kilbride are being asked to give ideas on how the town can celebrate its 75th anniversary.South Lanarkshire Council is looking for public feedback on how the milestone can be celebrated.A survey has been created to give the locals of East Kilbride a chance to share their thoughts, and the deadline for giving ideas is April 8.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Although a village has existed in the area of East Kilbride for hundreds of years, it was officially given new town status on May 6, 1947, as part of the effort to regenerate Scotland after World War Two.The town was created to provide a living space away from the overcrowded parts of Glasgow.
