East Kilbride gaffer Mick Kennedy has told Caledonian Braves boss Ricky Waddell ‘we’ll see what happens’ after his counterpart insisted he isn’t worried about facing the defending champions this weekend, and had a pop at their signing policy.Braves are currently top of the Lowland League, two points clear of third-place Kilby having played a game more, and travel to K-Park on Saturday aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.Kilby, who have lost once already this term, remain the favourites for the title thanks to their strength in depth, but Waddell has said ahead of the game that EK don’t worry him.Waddell told Braves’ club media: “EK are favourites because they have a big budget and they keep signing players, but it doesn’t worry me whatsoever.“We’ve got a really tight group of boys and I know our squad at Caley Braves is a match for anybody.

We might win, lose or draw, but I know what we’ve got in that changing room. It is about us on Saturday.”Asked about that, Kennedy replied: “We’ll see what happens, come Saturday.

People talk about money but that is just one of those things in football. The club has always been well supported in its ability to recruit players, but that has not always been reflected with the product on the pitch, unfortunately.“That wasn’t the case last season, we won the league and got to the play-off final, so we’ll see what happens this season.“Caley Braves have started really well, to be fair.

They have a hybrid model this season so some of their boys are full-time and they are doing well.“Ricky is confident, as I would be.
