Mick Kennedy says East Kilbride will bring in yet another new signing after midfielder Marc Kelly departed K-Park for Dumbarton earlier in the week. Lanarkshire Live Sport understands the Lowland League leaders are close to agreeing a deal with a club from League One to reinforce their ranks in the next couple of days.
Kelly joined Kilby in the summer from Caledonian Braves but after being a regular early on in the campaign, the 25-year-old found himself on the bench more recently and has now secured a switch to Sons in League Two.Kennedy says Kelly goes with the club's best wishes but he has moved swiftly to replace him in the squad. On Kelly's exit, he said: "You get to this time of the season where players who haven't been playing as much as they like start to feel it."Marc just wanted to go and try a different environment and compete to play week-in, week-out."The opportunity to go to Dumbarton came up and we wish him all the best with it."It was a great opportunity for Marc.
He's a great lad, very professional and he moves on with our best wishes."Kennedy added: "But we will bring somebody in to replace Marc in the next week, probably Monday or Tuesday."There's a deal nearly over the line on that one."It would mark EK's fourth signing this month after former St Johnstone striker John Robertson, ex-Hamilton Accies midfielder Lewis Spence and ex-Stirling Albion striker Robert Thomson all signed up for the remainder of the season.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
