At 9am on Thursday morning (November 30), the shutters haven’t even rolled up on half the shops in the Trafford Centre yet there is already a queue of people waiting patiently outside the former Debenhams unit at the far end of the shopping centre.
Vacant for three years now, the space has been transformed into a huge 135,000 square feet Marks and Spencer store featuring aisles upon aisles of clothes, homeware, food, drink, and everything in-between.
And to mark the big occasion, there's a giant inflatable Percy Pig, free goody bags, and a live saxophonist playing along to Beyoncé hits in the middle of the beauty aisle - for some, it's a delirious start to the morning, but for everyone else, it's all part of the ceremony.
The opening of the new Regent Crescent replaces its previous Trafford Centre base at Peel Avenue with staff there moving across alongside 180 new members.
