Despite the personal challenges, Eamonn showed resilience by attending the event in a wheelchair.While accepting the award for best breakfast show with co-host Isabel Webster, Eamonn seemed to allude to his former partner in his speech.Eamonn remarked: "I got two things in my back that I didn't want," which appeared to be a double entendre referencing both his back surgery and his relationship with Ruth.
He expressed gratitude to the audience, saying: "Thank you very much for this award. We were up against world class programmes and that makes it a little bit more special.
Sometimes we all think about imposter syndrome," reports the Mirror. Continuing, he shared: "I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong," before adding the quip about unwanted things in his back.
