GB News Breakfast host Eamonn Holmes shared a touching piece of his past during a Valentine's Day chat with co-presenter Ellie Costello, revealing a poignant connection.

When Ellie asked if he could recall his very first Valentine, Eamonn disclosed: "I married her." Ellie appeared taken aback by the revelation, replying with an empathetic gasp: "Aww that's so nice." He was speaking of Gabrielle, his first wife, with whom he tied the knot back in 1985.

The pair had three children—Declan, Rebecca, and Niall—but their marriage concluded after a decade. Eamonn openly disclosed in his 2008 autobiography, This Is My Life: The Autobiography, the pressures that their marriage faced due to his job at GMTV requiring him to be in London through most of the week, only returning home to Belfast for weekends.

He wrote candidly about how the distance took its toll, commenting: "We tended to be apart during the week because of my job, and I had no trouble with that - though Gabrielle obviously did.
