Eamonn Holmes, made a touching revelation about his first marriage during a Valentine's Day conversation with colleague Ellie Costello, following the news of his separation from long-time TV partner Ruth Langsford.Ellie enquired if Eamonn recalled his first Valentine date.

The broadcaster replied with a charming: "I married her."His response took Ellie aback as she warmly exclaimed: "Aww that's so nice."He was alluding to Gabrielle, his former spouse whom he tied the knot with back in 1985 and with whom he has three children, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall.

Their marriage lasted for ten years but started to fall apart due to Eamonn's demanding job at GMTV which meant he spent much time away from his family in London while they stayed in Belfast, reports the Mirror.

In his 2008 memoir, 'This Is My Life: The Autobiography', Eamonn expressed how their time apart affected their relationship: "We tended to be apart during the week because of my job, and I had no trouble with that - though Gabrielle obviously did.
