People who claim Universal Credit are being warned that failing to report any of some 19 things to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) could result in severe fines or even a court summons.
As the festive period approaches, it's also important to note that the operating hours for Jobcentre Plus offices and DWP helplines will be altered.

Official guidance on GOV.UK cautions: "You could be taken to court or have to pay a penalty if you give wrong information or do not report a change in your circumstances." The guidance further emphasizes the importance of reporting any changes "as soon as they happen" to ensure accurate Universal Credit amounts and avoid repayments due to overpayment, reports the Daily Record.
