A growing online petition is urging the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to "stop repeating PIP (Personal Independent Payment) assessments for disabled people".

The petition's creator, Gary Robinson, also insists that any decision to terminate a PIP award should be a "medical decision not a cost-saving exercise".

Over 3,200 individuals have already put their names to the 'Stop DWP repeating PIP assessments for disabled people' petition, which is hosted on the UK Government's petitions-parliament website.

If it reaches 10,000 signatures, it will receive a written response from the UK Government, and at 100,000 signatures, it could be considered by the Petitions Committee for debate in Parliament.
