Millions of people in receipt of child benefits, tax credits and more financial help are being warned their payment dates will vary next week due to the August Bank Holiday.
The public holiday is on Monday, August 3 - which means all DWP payments due on that day will be paid on Friday, July 31. This includes those in receipt of the carer's allowance and anyone that gets their Universal Credit allowance on a Monday.
Child Benefits were first introduced in the 1970s to support working parents with their living costs. Today, it pays around £20.70 a week for the first child and £13.70 per week for subsequent children.
