The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update after their cost of living payments were paused during last week's bank holiday weekend.
The government department said it was temporarily halting the £301 payments, which more than eight million households are eligible for.
It was not made clear why the payments were stopped, but the bank holiday was believed to be the reason behind it. On Tuesday (May 2), the DWP confirmed that payments had restarted and a further 1.6 million people had received their money.
The payment has now arrived in 6.4 million bank accounts, since the cash boost began being processed last week. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community The payments are delivered automatically, but people shouldn't worry if they are yet to receive theirs.
