The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced that on Monday, May 27 all Jobcentre Plus offices and phone lines will be closed due to the Spring bank holiday.

It has also confirmed people due to receive a scheduled payment on that day will instead see the money land in their bank account on Friday, May 24.

This means people due State Pension or benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) on Monday should check their bank account on Friday to ensure the payment has been made.

If it does not, you will need to contact the relevant DWP department as soon as possible. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have also confirmed similar changes, with offices, webchat and phone lines also set to close on Monday, reopening again on Tuesday, May 28.
