The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released new figures showing that over 3.5 million adults across Great Britain are now claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
Both payments aim to assist individuals with a disability, long-term illness or physical or mental health condition with additional daily living or mobility costs.
A successful claim for PIP can range from £28.70 to £184.30 each week, but is paid every four weeks which equates to between £114.80 and £737.
The significant difference in payments is due to the various combinations of the daily living and mobility component rates that a claimant could receive.
