Yorke was recently in Manchester for the Legends of the North fixture with Liverpool and discovered some insight into what has gone wrong at Old Trafford. "We [Manchester United] are nowhere near where we are supposed to be, especially with the players that we have in the squad at the moment," said Yorke, as quoted by France 24. "I spent the last two weeks there and had some more insight into looking where the club is and why we are in that position. "He's [Ten Hag] got some major surgery to repair there, there's work that needs to be done." Ten Hag, who has confirmed that pre-season will get under way on June 27, is set to face an array of different hurdles to jump over the coming weeks.
