King Charles joined Camilla and niece Zara Tindall at Royal Ascot earlier this week. The King has been making a gradual return to work over the past couple of months following his cancer diagnosis at the beginning of the year.
It came at a rocky time for the family following Charles' accession in the wake of Queen Elizabeth's death in 2022, increasing issues with Harry and Meghan, and the news that the Princess of Wales had also been diagnosed with cancer.
The double health scare has brought the remaining royals closer together, with Prince William and Princess Anne stepping in for the monarch on a number of occasions as he received treatment recently.
But it's no recent development to see 'the Firm' showing care for each other. Last year, the Duchess of Edinburgh's caring gesture towards the King during the annual horse racing event suggested “hints of concern”, according to a body language expert.
