Driving lessons and tests could soon resume - but they will look very different

Driving instructors will have to wear personal protective equipment while teaching in their cars when lessons restart in the coming weeks.

Government guidance about tests and lessons has been issued by the DVSA chief executive Gareth Llewellyn, but no fixed date has been announced.

They have warned about how instructors and examiners should greet their pupils, what PPE to wear and how to clean sat navs. Mr Llewellyn said: "Teams across DVSA have been working extremely hard over the past few months to make sure we’re in the best possible position to restart our services as soon as it’s safe to do so.
