Motoring experts have warned against using a certain button in your car to defrost the windscreen as it can often do more harm than good.
As the weather gets colder, you've probably had to remove frost from your car in the morning and at night. While scraping it or using de-icing fluid can get the job done fast, it's certainly more appealing to sit inside the vehicle and let the heating work its magic to melt the ice away.
But some drivers can get confused by which button to use, and may accidentally be hitting the 'air circulation' one instead - which often shows an arrow going into a circle and cuts off any air coming into the car.RSVP Live reports that this can be useful on hot summer days as it can keep the car cool as well as preventing smells from entering.
But when winter comes around, you shouldn't be using it, as experts from Eden Tyres have warned. A spokesperson from the company said: "As a general rule, when it’s cold outside make sure the recirculation button is switched off!"The air-recirculation button is best to use alongside your AC during warm weather.
