Drivers in a rural area have been left baffled after a suspiciously homemade-looking speed camera appeared on their local road.In what seems to be an act of community-driven law enforcement, exasperated residents have evidently crafted what looks to be a mock device, a tactic to slow down speeding drivers close to their homes.
A snap of the wooden box was shared to Reddit, where garnered conflicting views from users."Spotted on a very rural road. Seems legit!" cited the caption in the CasualUK subreddit.
Despite the carefully painted yellow exterior and its official-looking sign demanding a 20mph limit and "please slow down" request, closer inspection reveals a hand-drawn flash and a lens that appears to be a simple LED push light.
While some members of the public condemned the DIY deterrent, it received applause from certain quarters for purportedly servicing the greater good.
