A major incident was declared by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service after the fire broke out at the Viridor Recyling Centre in Pilsworth just after 12am this morning (Monday).
Crews from 10 fire stations from across Greater Manchester were out tackling the blaze at around 7am, with around 40 firefighters from eight crews remaining at the scene as of around 2.30pm.
