Downing Street insists chancellor Rachel Reeves has been 'straight with the public' amid claims she embellished her CV. In a 2021 interview with Stylist magazine, Ms Reeves claimed to have spent a decade at the Bank of England.
But reports over the weekend suggested her LinkedIn account described working there for a six-year period between 2000 and 2006.
Some media outlets have also reported a change to her profile on the networking site. The change reportedly saw the role of 'economist' at Halifax Bank of Scotland replaced with 'retail banking', between 2006 and 2009.
