The real-life Scot known for playing Amy Pond to a legion of Doctor Who fans, Karen Gillan comes back to UK screens on Thursday in Douglas is Cancelled.

The four-part comedy-drama about cancel culture is set in the world of television news and stars Hugh Bonneville as the eponymous national treasure, and Karen as his sidekick, Madeline.

Invernesian Karen is now 36, and has packed a lot into her career so far. She went to London at 18 to study at the prestigious theatre college Itali Conti and was scouted there as a model. Karen was first on TV in 2006, in an episode of ITV crime drama Rebus.
