Dorian Awards: ‘The Substance’ Dominates With Best Film, Performance For Demi Moore & Three Others

The Substance won Film of the Year and four other awards including Film Performer of the Year for Demi Moore and Director for Coarlie Fargeat at the 16th annual Dorian Awards, which were bestowed Thursday night by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.

The Best Picture Oscar nominee also picked up prizes for Genre Film of the Year and Campiest Flick. I Saw the TV Glow — which had a leading nine nominations — Challengers and Will & Harper scored a pair of wins each; Emilia Pérez won LGBTQ Non-English Language Film of the Year; and Wicked‘s Ariana Grande took Supporting Film Performance of the Year.

Her co-star Cynthia Erivo received the 2025 GALECA LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer prize. See the full winners list below. The Nine Inch Nails duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Finch bagged the Film Music prize for Challengers, and Nickel Boys took Visually Striking Film of the Year.

The Dorians go to both mainstream and LGBTQ-themed content, celebrating what the group calls “the expert Q+ eye on entertainment.” All of Us Strangers won Best Film last year.
