Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has hailed Donny van de Beek for the way he has conducted himself during his ongoing Old Trafford struggles.

The Dutch United midfielder continues to struggle for game time, making just 14 appearances in all competitions this season — only eight of which have come in the Premier League, and all via the substitutes bench.

It was hoped that the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the arrival of interim manager Ralf Rangnick, would transform Van de Beek's fortunes.

But he has continued to be overlooked, featuring in just half of the German's first 10 games in charge. Despite his limited opportunities, Van de Beek has not been critical of United publicly, either through the media or on social media, although it is understood that he is unhappy and wants to leave the club.
