Donald Trump is making one last attempt to delay the sentencing in his hush money case. The 78-year-old president elect was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in the case in May 2024.

The outlet noted that an appeal to the Supreme Court is likely the last step that he can take to delay things. Donald‘s team argued that proceeding with a sentencing is wrong as he appeals the ruling.
They also alleged that it was distracting him as he prepares to assume office. However, prosecutors urged the Supreme Court not to take the “extraordinary step” of interfering. “There is a compelling public interest in proceeding to sentencing,” they said. “Defendant has provided no record support for his claim that his duties as President-elect foreclose him from virtually attending a sentencing that will likely take no more than an hour.” Donald is not expected to be sentenced to any jail time, and he likely will not receive any fines or be put on probation.
