Passengers have been warned by train operator Avanti that all trains between Manchester and London have been cancelled for the rest of the day.
Amid soaring temperatures across the country causing overheating and fires, passengers have been told 'not to come to the station'.
The full message posted to the operator's Twitter account reads: “Extreme Heat: All services stopped. Do not come to the station.
Due to the extreme heat causing multiple incidents across the network, all Avanti West Coast services have now been withdrawn for the rest of today.
