Carolyn Giardina Expanding their in-car entertainment collaboration, Dolby and General Motors have confirmed that Dolby Atmos will be supported as an available feature across Cadillac’s entire 2026 EV lineup.

This will include the 2026 ESCALADE IQL, ESCALADE IQ, LYRIQ-V, OPTIQ and VISTIQ. Select 2025 models will also support Dolby’s immersive sound format through software updates. “Innovation is at the core of the Cadillac brand, and our collaboration with Dolby marks a transformative shift in how in-car entertainment elevates the driving experience,” said John Cockburn, chief engineer at Cadillac. “Together, we are taking audio to new heights by ensuring the music experience stays true to the artist’s original vision, delivering a sound experience that makes consumers feel like they are in the music studio with them.” Mastering music in Atmos has been a priority for Dolby.

With today’s announcement, the company claimed that 93% of Billboard’s 2024 Top 100 Artists release music in Atmos. Bringing Atmos to cars has also been a company initiative, as Dolby also brings its immersive sound to select models from auto makers including Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.

Additionally, last month at the HPA Tech Retreat, Dolby showed the first vehicle to support a combined Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos experience, Li Auto’s MEGA, though it’s not yet available for purchase in the U.S.
