Dog Man has some bite! Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s animated dog crime-fighting movie brought in $36 million at the domestic box office from 3,885 North American theaters in its opening weekend, Variety reports.

The Captain Underpants universe film opened at the higher end of its projected range, and it earned an “A” grade on CinemaScore, suggesting positive word-of-mouth buzz.
