Dog loses leg after 'collision with tractor' as Edinburgh council issues apology

A family dog has lost its leg after a reported collision with a City of Edinburgh Council tractor at a park in the capital. The tragic accident happened around 11.20am on Tuesday November 19 at the Gyle Park close to the David Lloyd centre, reports Edinburgh Live.It's believed the dog has had to have a leg amputated due to injuries they sustained.

Police have since launched an investigation into the incident.The vehicle was reportedly cutting grass in the park when the incident happened.

The council said they were 'sorry' to hear about the serious injuries the dog suffered and added they would assist Police Scotland with their enquiries.A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 11.20am on Tuesday November 19 2024, we received a report of a dog being seriously injured while in Gyle Park, Edinburgh.
