A vile thug repeatedly slashed a machete at a dog - cutting the 'defenceless' animal's face. A court heard how Reece Cockroft armed himself with the blade at a house last November.
Laura McBride, prosecuting, said the then-19-year-old had been swinging the machete around. After the dog began to bark, Cockroft slashed it 'around five times', Yorkshire Live reports.
The dog also suffered a fracture following the incident in Bradford last November, the court was told. Prosecuting, Laura McBride told Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday (January 29): "The defendant started swiping the machete towards the dog and he has slashed the dog with the knife around five times." The dog suffered cuts to its nose, head and across the face.
In a victim impact statement relayed to the court, the dog's owner, who must not be identified for legal reasons, said the animal had also suffered a fracture, believed to be to its head, during the incident.
