The owner of a dog who died after escaping from day care wants tighter regulations imposed on home boarding. Devastated Matthew Norwood learned of Yorkshire Terrier Bobby's death in February.The pet escaped home boarding and ended up on a dual carriageway before being fatally injured as a search party was launched.

The man from County Antrim was informed by the owner of the day care, Gillian Bell, his dog vanished from their field, reports BelfastLive.Mr Norwood wants to see tighter regulations on how pet day cares operate in Northern Ireland as he detailed the terrifying last few hours of Bobby's life with his family distraught.He explained: “As I was driving to collect Bobby when the owner called to say she couldn’t find him.

He’d been in a field with six other dogs and escaped unnoticed."My wife and I had no idea the field they used was not secure or we’d never have allowed Bobby in there off-lead.

We later discovered the field perimeter is patched up with chicken wire and sheep fencing and is not secure.“I rushed to the area and just started looking.
