Doctor Who fans were ecstatic as its former stars John Barrowman and Jo Martin reunited on Holby City last night. But the pair left fans even more giddy when they noticed a sly nod to the hit sci fi series.
John, 53, made his debut on the BBC hospital drama as slick Dr Drew Nicholson-Heath, who was seen bumping CEO Max McGerry, played by Jo.
Jo previously appeared in Doctor Who as Ruth Clayton, a human identity assumed by the Doctor. Meanwhile John played Captain Jack Harkness in both Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood.
As Max and Drew came face to face, a cheeky nod to the show was added in. When Drew was asked by Max whether he was trying to steal away her staff, he grinned and quipped with a salute: "Doctor!" Unsurprisingly, this
