Do you think the government will listen to Manchester's HS2 appeals?

Council leaders in Manchester have once again made an appeal to the government over plans for the HS2 network in Manchester.

One of the key issues is whether the station will be underground, with leaders in the Capital of the North arguing for a below ground station to avoid causing havoc across the city.

But despite pleas from the north the government appears to still be leaning towards and overground station, so we want to know if you think those in Westminster will listen. Manchester has laid out a series of calls for the station in a petition including making it underground, a re-think on the car parking plans and upgrades to the Metrolink going towards Ashton to ensure it remains operational during construction.

Mayor Andy Burnham has called for the issue to be debated in Parliament, saying that Manchester will become ‘the best place to live in the country’ should HS2 be done properly without cost cutting.
