It’s been widely circulated this year that the Love Island contestants are allowed Saturdays off for the purpose of having a “down day” to relax away from cameras and to have a professional beauty technician come into the villa to fix their hair extensions and nails.

But does the Love Island budget stretch as far as hiring a professional for the final episode and crowning ceremony? Apparently so.

In fact, it seems to be the only time during the whole series when the girls don’t have to do their own makeup before appearing on camera.

We know this because 2019 finalist Amber Gill – who ultimately went on to win with then-partner Greg O’Shea – was tagged in a pre-final snap by makeup artist Gemma Wheatcroft.The selfie showed her all glammed up.
