A disqualified driver with two young children on board was involved in a high speed police chase in East Kilbride.Robert Brown veered on to the wrong side of the road as he tried to get away.When he was finally stopped he yelled threats and assaulted one officer.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Residents described to the East Kilbride News at the time being awoken by the commotion as dozens of officers arrived on the scene.

One said she saw more than ten cops descend on Newhousemill Road just after 8am and witnessed Brown being pulled to the ground."I was in my bed and I got woken up by loud peeping noises - I wondered what on earth was going on," she said."I looked out and saw a car had been pulled over by police and there seemed to be a bit of a ruckus, with pulling and shoving between the police who initially stopped the car and those inside."It's not what you expect first thing in the
