Disney+ are not happy about the latest increase in the streaming service’s prices, with some vowing that it’s “time to cancel”.The planned hikes in UK subscription prices were announced in August, and came into effect on October 17.
For those on premium prices, a monthly subscription now costs £12.99, an increase of £2 on previous rates.Disney+ also offers a standard tier, costing £8.99 per month, up from £7.99, and a standard tier with ads, which remains unchanged at £4.99 per month.
Customers can also now pay annual prices of £129.90/year for premium or £89.90/year for standard, with no annual offer for the ad-supported tier. The price increases come just weeks after the company announced a crackdown on password sharing, with anyone using a subscription belonging to somebody outside of their household having to pay an extra £4.99 per month. The increases have not been enthusiastically received on X, with one user writing: “Disney+ going up to £12.99 a month?
