Diogo Dalot has revealed he really wanted to wear the No.2 shirt after signing for Manchester United, but was left to have the No.20 instead.
The Portuguese right-back has been a fan favourite since his move from Porto in the summer of 2018, but has struggled for game time after an injury-stricken start to his time at the club.
Dalot impressed during his brief spell in the Porto first-team and was targeted by Jose Mourinho during his final transfer window in charge at the club.
The 20-year-old showed encouraging signs under Mourinho, but it was current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who helped him with deciding his shirt number.
