Roy Keane was left unimpressed with Anthony Martial in Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal on Sunday. The striker struggled to make an impact on the game and was taken off for debuting summer signing Rasmus Hojlund on 67 minutes.
It means Martial is still yet to complete a full 90 minutes in the Premier League since January 2021 amid a spate of injuries and ill-form.
Martial missed the whole of pre-season and the first two matches of the campaign as he recovered from a hamstring tear that ruled him out of June’s FA Cup final.
The 27-year-old is yet to get off the mark this season and managed only 19 touches and one shot on goal against Arsenal. Keane, who was on match analysis for Sky Sports, was dissatisfied by Martial’s shift and rowed back against Erik ten Hag’s assessment that the attacker had “a good performance”.
