Developers get permission to construct housing development in Shotts

Developers have secured permission to proceed with the construction of a housing development in Shotts.North Lanarkshire Council’s planning committee approved an application from Anco Construction which proposed 49 homes including 39 flats at a site off Rosehall Road.

The development also includes assorted infrastructure including new pedestrian and road access.As the committee considered the application, Councillor Margaret Hughes (SNP, Fortissat) asked if anything would be put in place to prevent the flats from overlooking the existing properties and also expressed concern over traffic as lorries involved in construction would be unable to travel along Rosehall Road due to height restrictions.
