Devastation as much-loved hero GP dies after contracting coronavirus on frontline

A much-loved GP has died after contracting coronavirus. Dr Saad Al-Dubbaisi, lead doctor at Garden City Medical Practice in Holcombe Brook, Bury, had been ill for a number of weeks.

It's understood the Baghdad-born GP, 59, died at Salford Royal Hospital on Sunday and leaves a wife and two daughters. Patients, friends and colleagues have paid tribute to the 'much loved, compassionate' doctor.

Dr Jeff Schryer, Chair of NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group said: "It is with great sadness to hear the news that one of our GPs in Bury, Dr Saad Al-Dubbaisi, has sadly passed away after being very poorly for a number of weeks.
